Last Saturday (Aug. 13th), I gave a small, informal concert in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is my favorite type of performance. It gives me a chance to play and interact with the audience. John Seery, an audience member, took a few pictures and then emailed them to me. Here are a few of those pictures:
Here I am talking to the sister of my mother-in-laws neighbor. Small world!
Dr. Will Bottje is introducing me. Bottje is a former composition teacher of mine and is the person that organized the concert.
One of the audience members asked Andy (my oldest son) if he would play the piano, so after I played, Andy played an encore piece on the piano.
My program:
Canción del Emperador (Luis de Narváez)
Guardame Las Vacas (Luis de Narváez)
Greenwood (Lunn)
Three Preludes (Villa-Lobos)
2 Childhood Sketches (Lunn)
Three Arrangements (Greensleeves, Scarborough Fair, and Spanish Romance)
Shadows (Lunn)
Minuet and Waltz (Fernando Sor)
