I made this video in a hotel room in Chicago. My wife had some business meetings during the morning so I decided it would be a good time spend some quality time with my guitar. The recording was made with my ipad with no editing of any kind. I think the audio turned out pretty good considering the mic on the ipad is not high quality. This is the first piece from a recital a couple of weeks ago (scroll down to see the video). I am not sure if I will include the electronics for the Red Guitar CD.
This is the final piece of my Red Guitar Suite. So in the end the suite consists of 14 pieces of which 12 are solo guitar and 2 are duets. I am going to record the suite this month with hopefully a release date in late March/early April. We’ll see. It took me 6 months longer than I thought to write the suite. After I record the suite I will prepare the score so that I can offer it on my website.
Finally released a new Red Guitar video. I have already composed number 12 and 13 so I will be releasing those in the next week or so. Duets are tough. I have to listen to a click track will I am playing so that the two voices sync. It took about 20 takes (no lie) to get a descent recording of the first guitar part (upper left corner of the screen).
I finally made a video for #6. This is one of the more difficult pieces because it spends so much time in the key of E-flat major. Which means, there are a ton of bar chords.
